Latex care: How to get everything done right!

When wearing: Materials that are not compatible with latex
Latex is a beautiful, but also quite demanding material. If you really want to enjoy it for a long time and increase the lifetime of your outfit, you should take care of a few things: Latex and fats (including fatty creams) are not a good mixture. The grease leaves traces and contaminates the latex. The result is really not nice to look at, which is why you should be careful not to bring your latex clothes near greasy things. If you apply cream, you should also make sure that everything is well absorbed before you throw yourself into your latex outfit. You should also stay away from metals such as bronze, copper or brass: They also tend to leave their mark on latex clothing. That's why all metal parts used in clothing are made of pure steel. The main course: Washing
Although it is basically possible to wash your clothes from the latex shop in the washing machine, but if you do this, you should make sure that you select a gentle wash cycle and do not set the temperature higher than 60. A special latex detergent, such as Wondercare, is also an advantage. If this is too expensive for you, you can also simply wash your clothes by hand: There is a large variety of special latex cleaners that make this task a breeze. With these you can simply wipe off the latex clothes and they are clean and like new again. You will find a selection of the best cleaning agents in our shop. If you like, you can also wipe with clear water and a little silicone oil to prevent the individual layers of clothing from sticking together.Last But Not Least: The After Treatment
If the clothing has been cleaned of dirt, you can now proceed to post-treatment. This is an important step, because the after-treatment ensures that you can store your latex clothing without damaging it. First you should make sure that your outfit is completely dry before you start with the after treatment. (Nevertheless, you should never dry latex in the blazing sun. The UV rays attack the material and cause colours to fade quickly.) Now you should rub your clothes with some silicone oil or talcum powder. You can prevent it from sticking together and at the same time the clothes from the latex shop will stay nice and smooth. Take care to work thoroughly so that you catch every spot! For storage, it is best to use a clothes hanger. Latex doesn't like sharp edges or creases. In extreme cases there is even a risk of breakage. By the way: Should it come to that, we offer repairs of latex clothing, no matter if it comes from us or from another shop.A special case: Silky Latex
Silky Latex is a special chlorine treated latex, which, besides its special wearing properties, has a big advantage: It is incredibly easy to handle. Latex clothing treated in this way is machine and dryer resistant and does not stick together. It can therefore be washed just like normal clothing and does not require any special latex care.Old hands in the scene know the special demands that latex has in the care. Newcomers, who may have just bought their very first latex clothing, are often a little perplexed and wonder how they can best care for their new latex clothing. But don't worry, rescue is at hand!
